Intro to Aerial Arts

This class series is designed specifically for new students who have never been on an aerial apparatus and want to try it out! There are no prerequisites, this is an introductory class series for all skill levels and bodies.

Students will learn basic skills on a variety of aerial apparatuses including fabric (hammock/sling & split silks/aerial silks) and bar apparatuses (static/dance trapeze & lyra/hoop) before picking one (or more!) to pursue further in a Level 1 Series Class.

We encourage students to take this class series as many times as necessary until they feel confident with the basics.

Lyra/Trapeze

This class series provides the foundation for aerial bar apparatuses - the lyra/hoop and static/dance trapeze. Students will learn various ways to mount the apparatus, basic poses and transitions, short sequences, proper body alignment, and safety. Students will progress at their own pace as their strength, flexibility, coordination, and aerial vocabulary grows.

This class series will be offered again and again throughout the year with a slightly different set of skills being covered in each series. We strongly encourage students to take this series as many times as is needed to build the skills to move on to Lyra/Trapeze II. Typically students attend level I classes for at least a year before moving on to level II classes.

Please attend at least one Intro to Aerial Arts series before signing up for this class.

Fabric 0

This class series provides the foundation for aerial fabrics - the hammock/sling and split silks/aerial silks. Students will learn climbs, basic aerial skills, proper body alignment, and safety. Students will start low to the ground and progress at their own pace as their strength, flexibility, coordination, and aerial vocabulary grows.

Fabric 0 is perfect for students who have taken an Intro series and aren't quite ready to jump into Fabric 1. It's also great for students who took a Fabric 1 series and then took a break and are looking to get back on the silks.

This class series will be offered again and again throughout the year with a slightly different set of skills being covered in each series. We strongly encourage students to take this series as many times as is needed to build the skills to move on to Fabric I.

Please attend at least one Intro to Aerial Arts series before signing up for this class.
